About

Trinity Christian School is a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church providing excellence in Christian Education for children from age 3 through grade 8.

The mission of Trinity Christian School is to provide students with an academically excellent,Christ-centered education and to share the gospel message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our Values

  • We Value Faith

Nurturing the Christian faith of our students is central to all we do at TCS. We strive to help our students develop dynamic relationships with their Creator and Savior. We focus on God’s Word as a guide for our lives, and incorporate it into every aspect of the school. Daily Bible class and weekly Chapel provide formal opportunities to learn God’s Word. The Word permeates the teaching of every subject, and is especially promoted in the relationships of the staff to the students.

  • We Value Academic Excellence

We stand for Academic Excellence with a solid curriculum or Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies as well as special academic extension programs like Accelerated Reader. Foreign Language is also a priority at TCS as students begin to learn Spanish in the Preschool 3 year old class, through the 8th grade. Technology is a critical component of education today, and TCS provides weekly opportunities for students to learn technology skills within our classrooms and our well-equipped lab.

  • We Value Emotional Literacy

At Trinity we recognize the essential role that Emotional Literacy plays in the success and health of each child. From the preschool years we work with students to develop an emotional vocabulary so they may better communicate their emotions, and understand the emotions of others. We strive to reach the heart of each child, by promoting a Culture of Grace. We teach students to look within themselves to find the motivations for their behavior, and speech. By better understanding themselves, students are more able to successfully navigate the challenges of relationships, hardship and loss.

  • We Value Fitness

Physical fitness and the overall wellbeing of every child go hand in hand. TCS promotes physical fitness through a Physical Education program focused on the five areas of fitness, speed, agility, strength, endurance, and flexibility. Students learn about the amazing gift God has given them that is their body. They learn how to care for their body through proper nutrition, and regular exercise. Our goal is to promote lifelong fitness habits for our students. Trinity has twice earned the New Hampshire State Championship award for the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge as the school with the highest percentage of students earning the prestigious Presidential award.

Our History

Trinity Lutheran Church began as West Keene Chapel with the inaugural worship held on December 7, 1952. Three short years later, Trinity began a ministry to children and families opening a Nursery School in October of 1955.sanct_pic For the next 46 years Trinity Lutheran flourished in the churches’ facility at 28 Arch Street, expanding its ministry to children in Kindergarten through Grade 3 in 1998.

Cramped for space and feeling called by God to open a PS-8 school, Trinity built a 14000 square foot school at 100 Maple Ave. The new school officially opened on June 6, 2001. The grand opening was highlighted by a march from the Church to the new facility on Maple Avenue enjoyed by parents, teachers, and congregational members alike sharing the motto “FROG”… Fully Rely on God! Since the opening of Phase 1, Trinity followed with another school addition in 2004 more than doubling the classroom space available.

Presently Trinity Christian School enrolls 130 students providing excellence in Christian Education with an outstanding Developmental Early Childhood Program for 3-5 year olds, a solid fundamental program of Elementary Education, and exceptional Middle School learning opportunities. Trinity staff includes 8 full time teachers and 6 part-time teachers all highly trained and chosen for their academic teaching ability and their strengths in teaching and modeling the faith. Besides the core curricular offerings of Bible, Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies, Trinity offers a full complement of special classes. Spanish is taught beginning at age 3, Physical Education, Music, Art, and Technology classes provide our students with a well-rounded 21st Century education. Our modern facility includes 14 classrooms, a beautiful gymnasium, a well-stocked science lab, and a large media center that serves as the school library and computer center. To this day, God has led us to grow this ministry to children and families in the Keene area. We look to Him for strength, wisdom, and guidance as we face the blessings and challenges of the future.
